PC Kidz Curriculum

The PC Kidz Curriculum is aimed at establishing computer literacy and technology skills in preschool and elementary students, while adhering to both state and National Educational Technology Standards.

Designed by professional educators, the curriculum is divided into five program levels which target age appropriate objectives and activities. This innovative approach not only aligns the curriculum with both state and National Educational Technology Standards, but presents the lessons with the child's developmental abilities in mind. The curriculum covers eight technology domains and each domain is broken down into specific skills and objectives that are introduced at the appropriate program level.

Little Bitz, our toddler program, introduces beginning students to technology and develops a foundation of basic skills. The Little Bitz curriculum is designed to help this most inquisitive age group to investigate and discover developmentally appropriate software, while learning mouse control and terminology.
In the Navigators program, students acquire basic computer navigation and operating skills, while beginning to understand the functions and uses of technology.

In addition to understanding a variety of uses for technology, Navigators are introduced to proper keyboarding techniques and computer care and safety, while learning to work more independently with educational software applications that reinforce academic concepts.
PC Kidz Explorers develop more advanced navigation and operating skills that include an introduction to graphics, electronic communication, and basic MS applications.

Explorers begin to understand the terminology associated with MS Windows and learn to navigate many of the system features such as toolbars, menus, and file structures.

The Explorers program is developed to prepare students with the recommended computer skills and terminology for entering Kindergarten.
The Kinder Kidz program is a well-rounded curriculum that emphasizes advanced operating skills, desktop architecture and an introduction to the World Wide Web.

In addition to working with MS Windows and applications, Kinder Kidz learn proper keyboarding techniques and begin using proper mechanics and grammar. Kinder Kidz also learn to search and navigate the web, while reinforcing acceptable use policies and web safety.
Big Kidz is a more challenging program designed for the elementary student. It is a project-based curriculum that focuses on technology as a tool for completing projects, conducting research and acquiring knowledge.

Big Kidz learn a multitude of skills in various applications while completing open-ended projects that encourage critical thinking, problem-solving, and creativity, while including the basics of computer operation and terminology.
